TRIB Biosensors is Hiring a Chemistry Technician Near Wilsonville, OR

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in polymer resin production following standard operating procedures, work instructions, and departmental policies.
  • Perform in-process testing of materials for molecular weight, water content, weight loss on drying, and using other standard tests.
  • Recognize and report product, process, and equipment issues in timely fashion.
  • Assist in the execution of designed experiments to identify and characterize critical process factors.
  • Perform routine equipment calibration, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting activities as required.
  • Perform designed R&D experiments that involve polymer synthesis, characterization, device fabrication and testing under the direction of a Scientist.
  • Accurately enter data into laboratory notebook, perform basic calculations, and data presentation.
  • Keep accurate documentation for the device history record and consistently adhere to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
  • Perform regular cleaning of the Production/R&D laboratory area, equipment cleaning, and glassware cleaning following safety procedures.
  • Handle hazardous waste, understand, and comply with hazardous communications rules and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field is required.
  • Understands basic organic and polymer chemistry concepts and techniques (reaction types, purification, characterization, structure-property relationship).
  • Must have a working knowledge of basic laboratory equipment and analytical techniques such as handling of organic chemicals, balances, pipettes, and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
  • Must have: 1-2 years work experience, in chemical manufacturing or R&D lab environment.
  • Desirable: 1-2 years work experience, in an FDA regulated manufacturing environment (i.e., cGMP or ISO) preferred.
  • Must be detail oriented with good dexterity for handling chemical glassware and capable of working in a chemical laboratory environment.
  • Must have the ability to multi-task and have good problem-solving skills.
  • Position requires the ability to follow detailed instructions with minimal supervision.
  • The position involves standing for extended periods while performing tasks that require good coordination and vision.
  • Ability to adjust to changing priorities and schedules.
  • The position requires the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Bending, lifting, standing, kneeling, and moving for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 - $33.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
